The Quality Assurance Agency is reviewing the Subject Benchmark Statement for Theology and Religious Studies, and is looking for expressions of interest from people who would like to be involved in the process.
These Subject Benchmark Statements are important documents that set national standards for what can be expected of graduates in each subject area.
This review is being chaired by Professor Hannah Bacon of Chester University. Professor Bacon writes,
We need the best minds and expertise for this! It’s a great opportunity to share what’s going on in our institutions and to work together to shape the field and define the academic standards we expect of our TRS graduates. We need to recruit representatives from the four corners of the UK, and ideally from all our sub-disciplines (e.g. biblical studies, theology, religious studies, philosophy and ethics). I’m especially keen to encourage applications from those with experience and knowledge of digital technologies, pedagogies and approaches to teaching and learning; education for sustainable development; access, participation and inclusion and how TRS is responding to calls to decolonise and diversify the curriculum; enterprise and entrepreneurship education.
